Perhaps you put ranch dressing on everything? Or maybe you’ve been on the hunt for a vegan Caesar dressing that’s as healthy as the food you put it on? Whatever your sauce-needs, we’re here to help. Soy Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp sambal
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Directions:

  • For this vegan sauce recipe, start with a medium bowl, whisk together the sambal, soy sauce, brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, and cornstarch until smooth.

Great with:

  • Asian rice
  • Noodle stir fry

Ranch Dressing

Ingredients

  • ¼  cup vegan mayo
  • 2 tbsp vegan ranch spice blend (or a combination of dried dill, dried parsley, onion powder and garlic powder)
  • 2 tbsp soy milk- plain, unsweetened
  • ½ tsp apple cider vinegar

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine the vegan mayo, ranch spice blend, soy milk and apple cider vinegar. Season with salt and pepper, whisk, and set dressing aside in refrigerator until ready to use.

Great with

  • Dipping crudite
  • Tofu-nuggets
  • Sandwiches
  • Chopped salad

Carrot Ginger Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 shallot
  • 1 carrot
  • Fresh ginger – approximately 2” in length
  • 2 tbsp tamari  
  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar

Directions:

  • Peel the shallot, carrot, and ginger. Roughly chop the carrot, shallot and ginger and add to a blender. To the blender also add the shallot, tamari, rice wine vinegar, 3 tbsp of vegetable oil and 2 tbsp of water. Blend the carrot ginger dressing on high, until smooth and season this vegan sauce recipe with salt to taste.

Great with:

  • Asian rice or noodle bowls
  • Sesame tofu,
  • Broccoli slaw

Romesco

Ingredients:

  • 6oz roasted red pepper  
  • ¼ cup almonds – sliced, unsalted, raw
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar

Directions:

  • In the blender, or food processor, add the roasted red pepper, almonds, garlic, red wine vinegar, 1 tbsp of olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper. Blend on high until smooth, about 2 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Great with:

  • Grilled or roasted vegetables
  • As a pasta sauce

Caesar Dressing

Ingredients:

  • Next, mince the capers and add them to a small bowl along with the tahini, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, dijon mustard, juice of 1 lemon, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk to combine.

Great with:

  • Traditional Caesar salad
  • Pasta salad

Chermoula

Ingredients:

  • Fresh ginger – approximately 1” in length
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Fresh cilantro – small bunch, 1oz
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/8 tsp orange spice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turbinado sugar
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes

Directions:

  • Peel and grate the ginger. Mince 2 cloves of garlic. Rinse the cilantro, discard the tough stems, and finely chop the leaves. Place the ginger, garlic, and cilantro in a small bowl. Rinse and zest 1 tsp of lemon peel and add it to the bowl along with the juice from half of the lemon. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil, the paprika, orange spice, cumin, sugar, red pepper flakes, and a pinch salt. Mix well.

Great with:

  • Pan seared tofu or tempeh
  • Grilled or roasted vegetables

    What is orange spice? It is listed as an ingredient in the Chermoula recipe.
