Build the sandwiches

Spread herb garlic cheese on one bread slice and add a few pear slices. Smear fig preserves on another bread slice and close sandwich. Repeat to make second sandwich.

Melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add sandwiches and cook until browned and crispy, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Halve figgy grilled cheese sandwiches and serve with remaining pear slices.
