INSTRUCTIONS

Build the sandwiches

Peel and mince the garlic. Thinly slice the jalapeño. Roughly chop the cilantro leaves and stems.

Grill the sandwiches

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and stir to spread across skillet. Place 2 slices of sourdough bread in skillet, and top each slice with cheddar cheese, sliced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro. Close sandwiches with remaining sourdough bread slices, and continue to cook until browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve with tomato chutney for dipping.
