Feel free to walk away while it’s at a gentle simmer, filling your home with the scent of cinnamon and coriander. An iconic Egyptian dish, koshari is essentially a simple rice-and-noodle pilaf in a spicy tomato sauce that’s packed with vegetables. Add as much of the Aleppo pepper as you’d like, and keep in mind that it’s meant to be spicy.
